Sunrise, Sunset

Some days, the Bag Lady wishes she could paint pictures. She is deeply envious of people who have artistic talent. Unfortunately, she has none.

However; that doesn't stop her from appreciating good scenery. And attempting to photograph it. When she says attempting, she means it. Here are some examples of the sunrises and sunsets she has witnessed over the past few years that moved her, or struck her in such a way that she felt compelled to take a picture.

This is a winter sunrise:

This was taken in the autumn, last year:

As was this one:

Here is an early spring sunrise:

And one taken fairly recently - the mist gives it a surreal quality:

Here's one of the sun peeking above the clouds:

This is a reflected sunset:

As is this:

Here is one where the Bag Lady was playing around with the settings on her camera:

And these were taken yesterday morning:

(love the misty look!)

And this......oops. How did that get in there?

(The Bag Lady as Yente, the matchmaker, in "Fiddler on the Roof")

Have a great weekend!

  6. Brilliant! My step-dad was the main guy in Fiddler (don't ask me, I'm pig ignorant about musical theatre!), he was well into his Am-Dram. I wish we could all go see Bag Lady on Broadway, that would be the best ;0)

Beautiful skies. There's just so MUCH of it where you are!

  10. TA - your step-dad was Tevye?! Way cool! "Fiddler" was my first Am-Dram (as you call it - great word!) and I loved it!

Yup, we're all about the big skies around here!

Hilary - Aw, thanks! I almost didn't put that picture in - added it at the last minute.

    Missicat - thanks.
"One season following another" seems rather appropriate right now, too.

    New*me - We ARE blessed, aren't we?
Hope your weekend is great, too.

  12. Sagan - yup - the makeup took forever 'cause I was quite young. It wouldn't take nearly as long now, I can tell ya! And having to walk hunched over to make me look older made me FEEL older, too!

  13. Some of those photos look like something a Hudson River School artist would've painted. Lovely!

  18. Who needs to paint pictures...much easier to snap a camera!

I was Tevye too! I'll have to post pictures sometime soon. Didn't need stuffing and I was a pretty darn good "rich" man too.
