The Bag Lady feels sorry for all you folks who live in perpetually warm climates, forever looking at the same greenery, so has decided to share a few photos of how her day looked yesterday.
She went out to feed her cows, and while she was picking up a bale for them, the calves in the corral had to come check out the action.
The ski hill in her neighbourhood must have been making snow the previous night, so everything was covered with frost.
The sun was trying hard to shine.
The cows are back there...
The horses also needed to be fed, and showed an inordinate interest in the camera. Most unusual for them.
The sunset paints the frosty trees pink.
The Bag Lady hopes you enjoyed your "winter vacation on the ranch". Regular programming will now resume.

ReplyDeleteHi, Hil: We have two horses. We have to keep them separated from the cows because the older horse is the Cowboys' "cow pony", and he thinks cows were put on this earth to be chased, so he chases them... All The Time!

He's a terrific horse for finding cows in the bush - has great "cow sense" - but doesn't seem to have an "off" switch!

ReplyDeleteHi Bag Lady! I LOVE the snow pics...too bad it's like 60 here today. My big dogs name is "Mojo" and yes, he is a great dane. For unknown reasons the little mutts name is "Scooby." I have a feeling it will cause some confusion!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Reb. The Bag Lady was bundled up well, so it didn't feel all that cold. Today is apparently warmer, according to the thermometer, but it is cloudy and feels colder.
ReplyDeleteoh Bag Lady I'm so jealous!! We had snow, but then 3 days of rain made it all disapear!! The temperature has dropped and we're crossing our fingers it will come back!

ReplyDeleteI have been racking stuff up - most was Christmas presents, except the scale. But now it's time to buckle down (and pay off the credit card).
Hey, p.o.m. - thanks. We get some really pretty sunsets here - probably designed to make up for the fact that it sets so freakin' early in the winter! That picture was taken at something like 4:30 in the afternoon! (Mind you, it sets at around 11 pm in the summer, and rises at around 3 am, so that helps make up for it, too)

ReplyDeleteI'm also quite partial to the horse snouts. I'd take a picture of my cat's nostils but I don't think it would be nearly as cute!
(And loved the tractor story, btw--I can barely drive a car without incident so will not be climbing on a tractor anytime soon!)

ReplyDeleteOh wow! Yeah, you read my post about winter in Houston. We get to see lots of people in tank tops and booty shorts who don't belong in tank tops and booty shorts year- round thanks to our tropical climes.
