My dad's mom came from Nebraska - in fact, when they emigrated to Canada, they went through N. Dakota to get here. And I'm glad you enjoy these old photos! I wish I could find some of the place in Nebraska.

Reb - I am not sure if they lived somewhere in between or not, but I do remember going to visit them in this house.

Javachick - you are so lucky to have that house still in the family! The house our grandfather built in 1929 is still standing, and one of our many cousins still owns the land, but the house hasn't been lived in for many years. In a perfect world, I'd love to restore it, but haven't won the lottery yet!the Bag Ladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17434610508260994331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8329622951839766826.post-42590509920949339252008-02-05T13:26:00.000-07:002008-02-05T13:26:00.000-07:00My Dad still lives in the house he grew up in. The house has been in the family for generations, ever since it was built (I can never keep it straight - great-grandfather? or great-great?). There are some pictures around from way back when, and it's kind of surreal to look at them.

My siblings and I are all pretty determined that the house should stay in the family. I expect my parents will be there for a good many years yet, but someday it will be passed down to another generation.

There are conveniences to living in the city (even a small one like I live it), but I still miss living in the country.JavaChickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06816858010039395389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8329622951839766826.post-61285616450450714572008-02-05T13:10:00.000-07:002008-02-05T13:10:00.000-07:00Now see Sis, I told you you would have photos that...Now see Sis, I told you you would have photos that I don't too!

I do remember the houses, although I was the city child and never lived in them. It has all changed so much, it was hard to tell. I hate to tell you, but I'm pretty sure the barn is gone, too. It was all too much for me, so I can't say absolutely. Plus the near-accident we were in because I didn't expect anyone to be there, especially driving an 18-wheeler, hauling grain...the Bag Ladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17434610508260994331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8329622951839766826.post-64976518306701041442008-02-05T10:00:00.000-07:002008-02-05T10:00:00.000-07:00Leah - Pal was the best, wasn't he?
