The Bag Lady has another busy week ahead of her. She is in the process of painting her mother-in-law's kitchen and utility room, then has to ready her own house for a little soiree she is throwing on the weekend for her nephew. She is hoping the weather will be co-operative, and the outdoor oven can be put to good use. She hasn't used it much at all this summer - it is in need of a little repair work, which may or may not get done before the weekend. It has also been so darned hot here for much of the summer that it hasn't really appealed to her to spend a lot of time outside, feeding a fire. She's such a slacker.
The hot weather finally broke tonight. It was 29C here this afternoon, but after a couple thunderstorms it has cooled considerably and is tolerable. The forecast is for more rain and much cooler temperatures in the middle of the week, but it is supposed to warm up and be sunny again by the weekend. Hopefully they are right.
Here is a photo of some people beating the heat this past weekend (it was 33C, which is danged hot in Fahrenheit, too!) Tailgate party in the middle of the river.....
It was hot enough that these peppers ripened practically overnight!
And here is a photo of the almost full moon rising the other night.
Hopefully the Bag Lady will be allowed to share photos of the dramatic transformation of her mother-in-law's kitchen... it is going to be so-o-o pretty! But only if the Bag Lady gets off her arse and gets over there. See ya!

the pictures are beautiful! The peppers looks so great. Have fun painting :) I love to paint too. Choosing a new color for your life is always exciting and I'm sure your mother-in-law is very happy to have you! Can't wait to see the pictures!
it's going to range from 12-15 C here today.
Feckin' Ireland and its non-summer. :(
dear bag lady,
it's me.
git off me.
people want pics.
love,
your arse
Pretty! What a coincidence - MY kitchen needs painting too! Are you busy next week? :-)
Annette - thanks! Those peppers are (hopefully) going to be in some hot pepper jelly soon! And the colour in Mother's kitchen is such a change, but so pretty!! I really hope she allows me to show you!
Christine - Our high on Wed. is supposed to be 15C. Quite a change from 33C!! It will feel cold, I think. But the rain will be welcome.
Miz - okay, okay!
Missicat - Ummm, next week...let me check my schedule and get back to you... :)
Am curious about the kitchen transformation too, although I'll leave it between you and arse as to when that happens.
I know my arse can be quite stubborn about starting new projects.
Good way to show the heat, and I really like the moon pic.
I have no comment re: your arse.
Crabby - my arse is kinda dragging this morning. It was really really hot in that kitchen yesterday (you know what they say - if you can't stand the heat, stay outta the kitchen...) Actually, today should be much better - it's cooled off considerably outside. And I am really anxious to do some more painting to see how it's all going to look!
dfLeah - Thanks for choosing to remain mum about my bum!
hehehehehe
Great photos. The peppers look so pretty!
We have had an odd summer here. Seems like all we've had is rain. Yesterday was hot & sunny during the day, but cooled right off by evening...Felt like fall. Too early for fall! Want more summer! And today it is raining again.
I think I'm feeling a little cheated, actually.
Javachick - lots of folks are saying we are going to have an early fall here.
It is so dry, the farmers are already starting their harvest. The crops have only been in the ground some 90 days, and usually take 120(?) to mature. The yield isn't going to be great, either.
Lack of moisture is also causing the leaves to turn on some of the trees. I was almost in tears the other day, driving along a country road with yellow leaves falling at the roadside! *Waah*
oooh...I'm getting excited seeing all those peppers. It's still hotter than a hades bbq out here.
Slacker, indeed. You always sound so busy! I hope the weather cooperates for your weekend plans. Luckily it's early in the week still. Can't trust the forecasts yet.
Looking forward to those pics of your MIL's place. I'm sure it will look great. I took a very similar photo of the moon rising (the real moon, not your ass)last week too and am planning to post it next time. As for your ass, I'm told it's not all it's cracked up to be. ;)
The river is a bit low isn't it? My memory is not that great though.
Can't wait to see the kitchen!
Okay, this says you posted at 3 am. Please tell me you were not up at 3 am!
I love the pictures, but I'd really love to be smack in the middle of that mid-river tailgaitin' party.
Geo - it's cooled right off here - only reached about 15C for a high, so I'm sure relief is on it's way to you!
BG - thanks! And you're so right about not being able to trust the forecast! I'll just keep hoping the weather is fine.
Hilary - my ass is definitely dragging tonight... it's been a long day!
Reb - yes, the river is very low, but we are getting a little rain today, so maybe it'll come back up a wee bit.
SB - I cannot tell a lie - I didn't get my lazy ass out of bed until a little before 5 am. (I scheduled this post. Cheater!!)
Amy - I would have loved to plunk myself down in that there river, too, but our friends we were traveling with had a different spot to go to.
I saw that full moon too! It was incredibly bright and beautiful!
... Oh dear, I should probably clarify. The full moon I was referring to is that thing in the sky that orbits the Earth... not that thing on our body that we typically sit on. ;)
Susan - thanks for the clarification! It totally cracked me up!!
