BG - and they spread like wildfire, too. I had one little plant when I started, and now they are everywhere!
dfLeah - thanks - I like them, too. But I need to cut them off before they go to seed....again!
Susan - I love using fresh chives in potato salad, among other things. And I'm hoping for a few more strawberries to ripen soon. I'm looking forward to eating strawberry shortcake, or strawberry pie, etc.
I hear you about the chives growing out of control. I've covered over part of my garden with grass and they still grow through. But the flowers ARE nice and the chives, especially their first couple of weeks are so tasty.
Just a quick hello while the grandkids are quiet. They are having a ball. Grandma is getting tired (just a few more days to go) and your soul candy did the trick. I am feeling revived.
And I never knew that chives were so pretty. I only ever see the dehydrated, freeze-dried version stuffed inside a plastic shaker at the grocery store, though.
EWBL - I love peonies, too! Except for the ants they attract.... Chives are lovely when they bloom, and really easy to grow. I could send you some seeds!
Mmm I could go for a strawberry.
ReplyDeleteSagan - and, so far, that's all there is - one strawberry!! :)
ReplyDeleteThere will be more soon, though.
Garden looks lovely Sis.
